Brrr!

Hi friends!

As you may know I am in Canada.. but I am  on the very westcoast of Canada on Vancouver Island, and the winters are VERY mild here every year. We usually don't see snow until December or January.. if we do at all. Well wow! Mother nature has decided to switch things up this year. We have lots of snow right now and it is quite cold already! I personally don't care for the snow much.. unless it is right at Christmas. Hard to get around.. my fiance can't work in it, and my son can't go to school in it. So yes.. I am less than impressed today. But.. it is pretty when it's covering the trees and the moonlight hits it.. so I do appreciate the scenery.

I had my big jewelry sale this past weekend at the university here in town! That's when all the snow started to fall.. luckily it didn't come down hard until after it was all over. The sale went really well! I met alot of new people and saw many that I already know and love. I sold quite a few pieces that I created specifically for that weekend so all is good in the land of ModRocks ;) There are many many pieces that I still have that I need to take pictures of and need to load up on to my fan page. Really hard to do that with the weather right now.. but need to make it happen!! Here are a few pics from that sale that I took....

I wish the pictures were a little clearer but I didn't have the best camera with me that day. I guess they could be much worse.. ;)

Hope your all staying warm wherever you are around the world! Hopefully the snow here will go away for awhile and come back in a month for Christmas time... And another jewelry sale on Dec 4th to look forward to. More creating to do!

Happy Monday friends!

Super Excited!!

Hi friends...

I thought I'd share my exciting news with you all.. since I am bouncing around with glee here all by myself! Haha.. I have done MANY many craft fairs over the years.. every holiday season I get my name in for all the good ones at the end of summer time. I have purchased proper tables and created a really professional set up for each of these shows. I sell my jewelry that I create under the ModRocks name, which has come a long way over the years. ...Well this year I applied along with 100+ other people to sell at a HUGE event in my city that takes place every Christmas.. one that I have never applied to before as I thought you had to be a "somebody" to even get near it. Only 13 people were chosen.. and I GOT IN! Yahh!! The coordinator gave me great compliments after I directed her to my Facebook Jewelry page. She said that it was all beautiful and they would "love" to have me be a part of their sale. I am ECSTATIC! I do have to pay for the table space.. however for the amount of people that show up and the type of event it is (Gala tickets are $150 dollars).. I'm almost guaranteed to do really really well! This event takes place on Nov 20 and 21st. I also have a jewelry sale on Nov 13th as well as Dec 4th for holiday shoppers this year..

I am pretty excited! ♥

Here are a few more pieces that I have created just recently.. I am very much into the asymmetrical designs right now... being unique and different, when society tends to bunch us all together in this world.

I have been mailing jewelry to women around the world for 5 years now.. so if you follow the ModRocks link above and see something you like.. shipping is easy peasy, just contact me!!

So thanks for sharing my excitement with me!! I will be taking pictures at my jewelry shows this year so will be sure to post some of those when I do... they are always great fun.

Have a great Wednesday friends...

Ashley...

Oh, p.s... It looks like I will be buying a CRICUT in the next day or two.. so you know I will be sharing all the new projects I create in here with you as well! See you soon... ♥

♥ CAKE ♥

Hello friends!

I have done another project for Sarahs design team over at Pink Cricut!! For this layout I have used one of the stamps from the Take The Cake stamp set, which can be found in the Pink By Design store..  I thought it went really well with the picture of my son at his 2nd birthday party. Aren't they just so super cute at that age! :)

It is "all about the cake".. and I tried to focus on that for this page.. you can click on any of the photos to see much more detail.

The recipe for this page is as follows...

Basic Grey - Urban Prairie papers & border
Bazzill Basics cardstocks
Buttons
Black Vinyl letters
Sticky Rhinestones
Stickles in Diamond
Making Memories Ribbon
Today I Eat Cake stamp from the Take The Cake, Pink By Design stamp set

I cut the cake and the banner freehand and used a circle punch and my paper cutter for the cardstocks. I tried to keep the colors really bright and cheery.. sunshine yellow, oranges, greens and bright reds.. all to match the cake and the smile on my sons face in the photo...

Happy crafting... and would love for you to leave a comment before you leave!! Thanks so much for droppin in ;)

Pink By Design Team Project...

Hi friends!

Yay! It's that time again! Another team project for Sarah over at Pink Cricut ...using her super fun Pink By Design Stamps she has created!

For this weeks project I have created a 12 by 12 layout.. and used the stamps from TWO of her sets and combined them together. The stamps are really versatile that way!

I created a layout based around one of my friends.. a very special person. She is like a ray of sunshine in my life.  So I decided to use the fun sayings from the stamp sets as the rays of the sun... you can click on the photo to make it larger and read it all better : ) I plan on adding a picture in the bottom right as soon as it is done printing at my local photography shop.

The supplies used on my layout are as follows...

  • K&Co Wild Saffron papers
  • Bazzill Basics card stock in multiple colors
  • Thickers black vinyl letters
  • Red & Yellow buttons
  • Making Memories brads and ribbon
  • Stamps from Pink By Designs "Simply Everything" stamp set
  • Stamps from Pink By Designs "Oh Boy" stamp set
If you haven't checked out the Pink By Design stamps yet you should head over to Pink Cricut and take a peek! You will also find the other design team ladies projects there as well!!

I will leave you with one of my very favourite FRIEND images... hope you all enjoy your Friday

I have missed you!

Hi friends..

I have been MIA.. and I have missed you! I came down with pneumonia in September and was in and out of the hospital for the past while. I ended up breaking a rib from coughing so much.. which was pretty painful, but alas the medications did their job. And I am better.. and I am back! ; )

Recently I pulled out all my jewels and started making some new pieces for the Fall. My jewelry company is called ModRocks, and has been based online and locally here in my city since 2006. I have a fan page on Facebook that I do a lot of business from... come and join me if you'd like! ModRocks Jewelry

I thought I would post some pictures here and share some of my work with you all...

You can come to my page or my shop and see much more! Everything is earth inspired, high quality and really affordable...

Tomorrow I will be taking a break from my jewelry to work on my Design Team project for Pink Cricut! That will be up and posted on Friday this week. Looking forward to sharing that with all of you!

See you soon friends...

Back To School Blog Hop...!!

Good morning friends....

I hope you have all come from Rosys Sweet Delights Blog ..  This is the Back To School Blog Hop being hosted by Sarah at Pink Cricut .. that is where you should start on the hop, as well as finish after you are done here at my blog! There are lots of goodies along the way and you must visit all the blogs to be entered to win the Happy Haunting Cricut Cartridge from Memory Miser who is sponsoring this blog hop. Thanks Memory Miser, and also to Sarah at Pink Cricut!

Well, it's that time of year again.. time to start thinking about back to school shopping, organizing and planning! The kids are getting restless.. the teachers almost back in the classrooms, and parents have paper, pens and glue on the brain!

I have created a 12 by 12 layout for the "First Day' back at school. As well as an inspiration card for a college aged female heading back to the dorms in a few weeks time..

For the layout I used some Wild Saffron paper by K&Co.. as well as Bazill cardstock, with matching "First Day" chipboard stickers in Wild Saffron as well.. I used my Martha Stewart punches to create the birds and the tree/flowers. Some smaller pieces of Amy Butler papers and lots of colorful buttons! I hand stamped the school sign and found a "live laugh love" border sticker to stretch across the page.. the grass is Scenic Route paper cut up and distressed with some Staz-On inks. I have yet to add the picture of my son and some additional journaling, but I did leave room for it.

The card I made was created again out of Bazill cardstock. I used a K&Co adhesive "Handmade" sheet of paper on the front and added a "Dream Big" sticker from the Amy Butler "Sola" collection. The sticker inside is also the Sola collection and reads "The best way to predict your future is to create it".. by Peter Drucker.

I hope you enjoyed my projects... and hopefully they have inspired you to make something for the Back To School season! ...I have some blog candy to give away.. in order to be eligible to WIN these items.. you need to first go up to my google followers and please follow my blog! Then simply make a comment on this post about what your most favourite paper/craft supply item is. Whatever it is that you just couldn't live without in your craft space... let me know ;) Please also leave an email or web address so that I can get ahold of you if you are the winner chosen by random.org. This drawing will take place on Monday Aug 9th.

The blog candy to WIN is an 8 by 8 package of Fancypants Rub-Ons "French Market", a package of "Forever" clear border stamps by Autumn Leaves, a package of "Wholy Cow" Rub-Ons by Basic Grey, 2 small packages of Studio G clear stamps with cupcakes and thank you sentiments, and a permanent glue runner by Ad tech. From The Garden...

Gorgeous sunny days here! Really enjoying them and wishing it would stay this way forever..

A few months back we planted a garden in the backyard. Potatoes, zuchini, squash, pumpkins, strawberries, onions, radishes, garlic, peas and lettuce. Lots of yummy fresh veggies! So far the strawberries have come and gone... they were great! As well as the peas. Mmm.

Tonight we went in and dug out about 8 pounds of potatoes! A whole bunch of lettuce, some onions and a bunch of garlic cloves! Dinner was created....

I made some chicken burgers with lots of romaine lettuce on them... and roasted up the potatoes with a bit of olive oil, the onions and lots of fresh garlic! Summer eats all from the garden!! So good.

I heart summer.. and everything that comes along with it. I hope to post some pics of the giant pumpkins once they are done! Wonder how big they will get this year..??  ;)

Happy summer friends...
